The three most important times to do space clearing

Space clearing your home at least once a year will keep the energy clear and vibrant, but there are three other key times when it's important to do space clearing too.
The three most important times to do space clearing

Space clearing is the art of clearing and revitalizing energies in buildings. It has many uses, but when I’m asked to summarise the three most important times in a person’s life to do space clearing, here’s what I say.

Moving into a new home

This is the most obvious time to do space clearing, to clear out the predecessor energies of previous occupants and help you land yourself energetically in your new home. Until you do this, it will never be truly yours. There will always be residual energies from the past affecting everything you do there.

If you move into a completely new building that no one has ever lived in before, you might think this wouldn’t apply. But in my experience, space clearing is still very helpful. It clears out any energies left by the builders and harmonizes the space after the disruption of all the building work so that it immediately starts to feel like a home. Without space clearing, it can take much longer for this to happen.

Chapter 36 of Space Clearing, Volume 2 explains how to do space clearing to help with several aspects of moving home, including getting clarity about whether to stay or move, selling your home, finding a new home, leaving an old home, moving into a new home, and clutter clearing when moving home.

When you’re going through a major life change

This can take many forms. It may be the beginning of a new relationship or the end of an old one, starting a new job or leaving an old one, a birth, a death, a wonderful success, a traumatic loss, or any other significant life-changing event.

Space clearing your home creates a supportive environment that will help you to move through a major transition with more clarity and ease. You can find more information about how to space clear in these types of situations in Chapter 42 of Space Clearing, Volume 2.

When you feel stuck

Another important time to do space clearing is if you feel stuck in some way in your life. When you feel like this, there will also be a corresponding stuckness in the energy of your home that has been building up for some time. The certified space clearing practitioners we have trained can tell by hand sensing the energy of your home what is happening in your life without you having to tell them.

Because you are energetically connected to the place you live, space clearing your home is one of the most effective ways to get your life moving when you feel stuck. Where there are stagnant energies, there is often an accumulation of clutter too, so clutter clearing done in conjunction with space clearing is usually the most effective combination for this situation.

Chapter 45 of Space Clearing, Volume 2 includes information about space clearing when you feel stuck, as well as other situations such as clarifying a new direction in life, overcoming procrastination, dealing with recurring problems or behaviours, promoting prosperity, and opening new possibilities in your life.

  2. Can you say more about why a space clearing should not be done if you are breastfeeding? I recently did a ceremony with my spouse and noticed that when I started clapping out areas that I didn’t feel right. I stopped right away and had him do this portion on his own, but it was a new experience and I’m curious if it had something to do with the fact that I’m breastfeeding?
