This was the year Karen discovered the extraordinary spiritual culture of Bali, with its highly developed levels of purification ceremonies. It became her home for the next 20 years.

Karen started teaching space clearing workshops in the UK and was invited to appear on TV shows such as This Morning, watched by 10 million viewers. Articles by her and about her were published in many national newspapers, as interest in her skills grew.

For eight years between 1997 and 2005, Karen flew two or three times around the world each year to teach her clutter clearing, space clearing, and conscious living workshops in the US, UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Bali, and other countries.

Karen published her second book – Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui. Now in its fifth edition, it has sold over 2 million copies in 26 languages.
She also created her first website – spaceclearing.com – which became the global go-to resource for space clearing information. The content was moved to clearspaceliving.com in 2024.

Karen designed and built a hotel and conference centre in Bali, where she taught many memorable workshops. After Richard became the manager of the hotel in 2006, his cheffing and hospitality skills made the restaurant the most popular dining venue in East Bali.

We met in 2004 and married in 2007. We’ve made homes together in Bali, Australia, and the UK, which is now our permanent home.
